Miss Harriet, Miss Lauren & Miss Aimee

Principles of Avian Dance School

'We started Avian Dance School because of our love of the Arts. Combined with our experience in dancing, the education sector, competing, examinations and stage performances, we wanted to bring the exhilaration, discipline, joy and sense of belonging to a family to future generations through dance and performing arts. We worked so hard to achieve our dream, of opening our own studio and now we are working twice as hard to help other achieve absolutely anything your heart desires if you're willing to believe in yourself. We appreciate every student that chooses us to be a part of their journey and it fills us with happiness helping to guide the way'.

Harriet

Harriet has always had a passion for teaching and learning and when she had the opportunity to form Avian Dance School, which combined two things that she loved (dance and teaching), it was like a dream come true!

She has gained many qualifications over the years. These include:

IDTA Level 4 Diploma in Ballet

IDTA Acro Dance Diploma

Acrobatic Arts Certified teacher and adjudicator

PGCE (M) in Education

BBTSA National judge

BBTSA Clinician

Moreover, she has used her knowledge of both the dance industry and qualified teacher status in education to bring dance into numerous schools and after school clubs from KS1 through to KS4.

Lauren

Lauren has been dancing since the age of 4. She had competed both nationally and internationally in the sport of baton twirling. With twirling, she has competed all over the would in countries including: Ireland, Florida, Sweden, Netherlands, Canada and Croatia. By far her biggest achievement was winning the gold medal in her individual event at the WBTF World International Cup 2017 in Croatia. Furthermore, she is a BBTSA Level 1 coach, holds an Acrobatics Arts qualification and is a qualified teacher in education.

Aimee

Aimee has always had a love for music and dance. Because of this, she has been dancing for 23 years! From the age of 4, she started to learn dance genres including: ballroom, modern and jazz. As she got older, she grew a passion for commercial and street. She was fortunate enough to dance on some incredible stages along the way starting with Norwich's Playhouse and the Theatre Royal. Leading on from this, she performed on the West end stages: Her Majesties Theatre, Sadler's Wells and Theatre Royal Dury Lane. By far her biggest achievement was winning a nationwide competition to perform on Disney stages in both Paris and Florida. Over the last 6 years her love for dance has directed her towards choreography and teaching which led her to find Avian Dance School, where she became Principal alongside Harriet and Lauren. Currently, she is studying for her IDTA qualification in Freestyle and a diploma in Baby Massage.

Together, they have brought enthusiastic, highly qualified, dedicated, patient and energetic teachers to Avian Dance School with the view to make dance accessible to all, as well as making dreams come true.
