Acro/Tumbling classes

 

Acro classes follow the Acrobatic Arts syllabus and offer opportunities to perform in an annual acro competition, exams, showcases and displays. They follow the core concepts of strength, balance, flexibility, limbering and tumbling. They combine the skill, tricks and power of gymnastics with the aesthetics, foundations and musicality of dance.

 

Tumbling class is focused on the shapes, drills and tumbles associated with gymnastics and is taught by our Level 3 qualified British Gymnastics Coach.

Mini Ballet/Acro – (pre-school) Ages 2 – 4

Primary Acro – Ages 5-7

Acro / Street – Ages 5+

Acro 1 – Ages 7-9 (beginner level)

Acro 2 – Ages 8+ (beginner level with some experience)

Acro 3 – Ages 8+ (Intermediate level) Contact us before booking

Acro 4 – Ages 9+ (Advanced level) Contact us before booking

Tumbling – Ages 8+ must be able to handstand, cartwheel and bridge recover confidently.

 

 

Ballet classes 

 

Classes follow the IDTA syllabus as well as free classes for choreography. We offer examinations in rosette dances for those under 8, all the way through to advanced and Teacher Training. We teach discipline, technical training and terminology, musicality, grace and fluidity and support in further education such as associate programmes and performance opportunities.

Preparatory Ballet – Ages 4-7

Grade 3 Ballet – Ages 11-13

Adult Ballet – 18+, all abilities welcome

 

Street/Commercial Classes

 

These classes study a range of styles in an open class setting. This means choreography and skills will cover aspects such as isolations, popping, tricks, musicality and technical steps as well as styles such as hip-hop, commercial, K-Pop and break dance. Open class setting means we do not offer examinations in these styles, but we do offer performance opportunities throughout the year.

Ensemble Singing

 

These classes help students take on the wonderful skill and talent that is singing. Our highly trained and experienced teacher offers technical vocal training, understanding and study of music as well as bringing songs to life with performance. We offer opportunities throughout the year to perform as well as take examinations. Our teacher also offers 1:1 sessions and piano lessons on request.

Ensemble Singing Class 2 – Ages 12+

 

Home Education Classes

 

These classes are for students who either home school or flexi school. They cover the same aspects as our evening Acro and Street classes but are during the day. We aim to keep class sizes small, offer the opportunity for parent transition out of the room for any students who need a little extra time adjusting and have a highly qualified and experienced teacher guiding them towards their personal goals. There is still the opportunity for examinations and performances alongside the evening classes.

Jazz/Lyrical/Contemporary Classes

 

These classes focus on the elements of technique and style of Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary styles. Dancers will develop not only strength and technique but also musicality and story telling, partner work and group work and have the opportunity to perform in shows and displays through the year, as well as compete if they choose to audition. It’s one of our most popular classes.

Junior J/L/C – Ages 5-9

Pre-Senior J/L/C – Ages 11-13

Senior J/L/C – Ages 14+

 

Jazz Technique Open Classes

 

These classes are focussed on the foundational techniques of jazz dance including leaps, kicks and turns. It develops dancer’s core skills and flexibility by applying those elements to music. This class is not for beginners.

Must have dance experience - Ages 10+ 

 

Tap Classes

 

Classes follow the IDTA syllabus as well as free classes for choreography. We offer examinations in rosette dances for those under 8 and above. We teach discipline, technical training and terminology, musicality and rhythm. There are also opportunities to perform throughout the year.
